Overwhelming Intricacies is a series of photographs that seeks to visualise the need to hyper fixate on a particular point of interest. The work came about as I made note of how I interacted with the world surrounding me: I took the same route to a specific location every visit to keep a controlled view of the world and avoid overwhelming changes. Although keeping to a precise route for the journey, once I reached the destination, I used the attributes of the trees to guide me, moving from surface to another. Choosing to focus on a specific detail within the landscape destination was drawn from just how overwhelming and overstimulating the whole view all at once can be. The work is not about the details themselves but rather about the process of being drawn in each direction.
